We welcome interested parents to come and observe our classrooms in action. This gives you a great feel for the school and allows you to see how the Montessori method of education works in practice — it’s likely very different from how most parents experienced school. The morning begins with introductions to the small group of parents joining you for the morning. Instructions are given for what to do and what to look for and then the observations begin.
Parents can observe the preschool, lower primary and upper primary classrooms. We don’t observe our toddlers nor our adolescents, as the presence of additional adults is too distracting and disruptive to their work. Observations across the three rooms last about an hour. After observing, you will have a chance to ask the myriad questions you likely have answered by our principal, a trained and experienced Montessorian. Parents who typically describe their time in the classroom as ‘zen-like,’ ‘gracious’, ‘inspirational’ and more. Come and see for yourself!
