Plenty of parents, students and staff turned out for the P&F-hosted picnic on Friday, September 30. The event, to welcome new parents to the school and old parents back, was a great success and even the early-monsoon rain almost held off (almost!) till the end.
The children were entertained by Pak Reinal (head of security at the preschool) and his varied reptiles (contact him on 0857 3882 4942 for your own parties or events), while local musician Thompson (Ph: 0812 221 88086) provided acoustic guitar and singing to set the relaxed mood. Locavore (http://www.locavore.co.id/) drove down their nifty food truck to dish out fabulous gourmet hot dogs and falafel, while families contributed plenty of snacks and finger food as more fuel for the afternoon. Kids played soccer, new friendships were made and old rekindled.
A huge thank you from the P&F to all the parents who helped contribute to the day by coming along. We hope to hold more successful events just like this in the future! While this wasn’t specifically a fundraising event, the school did raise (watch this space), which will go into the P&F coffers for now towards future expenses.
From your Friendly P&F
