Library ‘Open for Business!’

06 Mar 2017

Starting from March 6th, 2017, the school library will be open for business!

Around 1,000 books have been logged into the web-based system we are using; Libraika. Fiction books will be available for loan at the following times:

Preschool 3 & 4 year olds: Tuesdays 12:00 – 12:30

Preschool Extended Day: Tuesdays 2:30 – 3:00

Karina’s Class: Monday 10:30 – 12:00

Susan’s class: Fridays 9:30 – 10:30

The P&F has provided library bags that the books will be brought home in. Each child can borrow a maximum of 3 books for one week. Please ensure the books are kept in the bag in a safe place and are returned the following week.

The P&F has also provided bean bags to make the library a comfy space for readers to hang out in. Non-fiction books will not be available for loan as the students use them for projects.

We would like to ask parents to volunteer their time to staff the library at the above times on a regular basis. It would be ideal if volunteers could help out at one time slot every week for a full term.

Samantha Brown (Lyla and Will’s mum) will coordinate the roster and help show parents what to do — the system is easy to use and simply involves checking in and out books online.

Parents can email Samantha in the coming week to sign themselves up; please consider donating a half hour or an hour a week (you don’t need to do the full Primary class hours). This is a great way for families to be involved in school life!

From Sam and your friendly P&F
